We landed on DXB 3 hours later than the estimated time due to the weather and the busy traffic of Dubai Airport, we lingered in the air for almost an hour cause apparently there was no parking (I KNOW RIGHT?!)
Due to that I missed my appointment to go up the Burj Khalifa, but I still go there anyway to maybe just have coffee at the cafe. When I reached at the tallest building in the world, they say I just have to pay another 75 dirhams to upgrade my tickets so I did and went up. I'm not gonna lie and say the view was breathtaking or whatever, cause it wasn't. Hahahah. I think the view on top of the Eiffel Tower is even much better but well, it was worth it cause it has been on my bucket list since the construction started.
I spent hardly half an hour on top, then followed by a brief coffee session at the cafe (I wish I had a company) and then walked around the Dubai Mall, it was huge and everything was expensive.
After spending a few good hours there, my ride for the desert safari arrived. I was quite nervous about it cause I've no idea who else would be in the car. Thankfully my ride-mate was a very friendly Philippino family, Magdeleine and her husband and her 3 kids.
The dune bashing was very fun (I doubt it would be fun for people with motion sickness though) but I love it. Couldn't stop laughing and screaming.
When we arrived at the desert safari, I made another four new friends. Maya, a 7-year-old girl from England, with her twin brothers Nolan and Nathan and another older brother Jerome (I think he doesn't like his name very much cause he introduced himself to me as James and Maya was like "NO ITS JEROME!" hahaha)
I had a good time with them, they were excited to know I'm in college and they asked random questions and played weird games.
I managed to resist the temptation of free shisha though, proud of myself. Hahaha. And the food wasn't so nice but I enjoyed the Moroccan dance, Belly dance? Hmm lets just say I'll never let my husband or kids see it. Too inappropriate. Haha.
Basically that's just it. I had a good time. I guess I'm good with traveling alone, how you get to make new friends along the way. But I dread the long lonely hours going from one place to another.
