Alhamdulillah for this good feeling Allah has lent to me since the past couple of months. I hope it would stay, for ever. Inshallah, hopefully.
It’s an amazing feeling when you realise that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. When you’re happy where you are, and you look forward to what’s to come. I foresee a career life I enjoy. Stressed out to a certain extent of course, but enjoy.
Can’t believe my surgery posting is coming to an end. I’ve only 4 days left in the department before moving on to another one. After 2 years of clinical rotation, went through 8 different departments, I’m pretty damn sure that surgery is my thing. I might’ve fainted a couple of times, I even fainted in front of a patient twice (once, my own patient who was conscious and aware; second time, OT Patient who was under GA 😂), but I’m very inspired by all the amazing staffs aka surgeons, I want to be just like them, or better if it’s even possible.
I want to be a surgeon. Even if it takes me another 10 years of struggle to be a good one, I want to be a surgeon and inshallah I will be.
Until the day comes where I take the next step in getting closer to my dream, I’ve to go through departments that I really despise - well I guess that’s a part of the struggle.
May Allah ease my journey for me ❤️
Updated:
So, in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, new things I learned/did in this year are
- intravenous injection
- alveoloplasty
- excisional biopsy (thank you so much Drub sir for allowing me to do this case!!!)
- extraction of 8s (wisdom teeth) using elevators (cryers, warwick james, coupland)
- more extensive usage of periosteal elevator
And observed the procedure of
- correction of cleft lip and palate
- reduction and immobilization of fractured zygomatic buttress, TMJ and symphysis
- improvised radicular neck dissection (carcinoma)
